Teacher training course

CHENNAI: The Clarence Group of Institutions has opened a pre-primary and teacher training academy at Saligramam for students who have completed class ten, twelve or above. The courses will be one year long. Admissions are open for pre-primary teacher training, nursery teacher training and crèche and pre-school management. Classes will be conducted from September onwards on Saturdays and holidays. There is no age limit. Lecture on Japanese techniques

The Saveetha-Mechanical Engineering Students' Forum organised a special lecture on Japanese techniques for excellence this month. K.R. Ranganathan, chairman, ABK-AOTS Dosokai, explained the 5S techniques.

Quiz contest for schools

The Rotary Club of Chennai Presidency conducted a quiz competition for Chennai school students. More than 160 teams of three students each participated. The team from Chettinad Vidyashram won. The Deputy Commissioner of Police, N. Ramasubramani, and Rotary Youth Services Chairman, S. Balachandran distributed prizes.

Counselling for alcoholics

The Lions Club International Lions District 324 A5 and Wisdom Medical Research Foundation have organised a workshop and counselling session for alcoholics, drug addicts and their families at Perungudi.
