Isolated rain

in Tamil Nadu CHENNAI: Southwest monsoon has been active over Kerala and south interior Karnataka.

Rainfall occurred at most places over coastal and south interior Karnataka, Kerala and at a few places over Lakshadweep. Isolated rainfall occurred over Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and north interior Karnataka.

The following stations recorded heavy rainfall in centimetres: Subramanya (Dakshina Kannada dt.) 9, Thirthahalli (Shimoga dt.) and Kunnamkulam (Thrissur dt.) 8 each, Valparai, Siddapura (Udupi dt.), Kammardi and Lakkavalli (Both Chickmagalur dt.) and Nilambur (Malapuram dt.) 7 each.

The other chief amounts of rainfall recorded in centimetres are:

Bagamandala (Kodagu dt.), Madikeri, CIAL Kochi and Thodupuzha (Idukki dt.), Pattambi (Palakkad dt.), Thalasserry (Kannanur dt.), Piravom and Aluva (both Ernakulam dt.) 6 each, Gudalur Bazaar (Nilgiris dt.), Bantwal, Dharmasthala and Puttur (all Dakshina Kannada dt.), Shirali, Kalasa and Jayapura (both Chickmagalur dt.), Kozhikode, Perinthalmanna (Malapuram dt.), Thrissur and Alapuzha, Quilandy (Kozhikode dt.), Alathur (Palakkad dt.), Ambalavayal and Mananthavady (both Wynad dt.), Kannara (Thrissur dt.), Paravur (Ernakulam dt.) and Mancompur (Alapuzha dt.) 5 each, Chennai, Thiruvallur, Mani (Dakshina Kannada dt.), Honavar, Siddapura and Yellapura (both Uttara Kannada dt.), Mudigere (Chickmagalur dt.) and Kozhikode Airport, Munnar (Idukki dt.), Konni (Pattanamthitta dt.), Mavelikara (Alapuzha dt.) and Punalur 4 each. Forecast (valid until Wednesday morning): Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at most places over coastal Karnataka and Kerala, at many places over south interior Karnataka and at a few places over north coastal Andhra Pradesh, north interior Karnataka and Lakshadweep.

Isolated rain or thundershowers are likely to occur over Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, south coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Rayalaseema.

Heavy Rainfall Warning: Isolated heavy rain is likely to occur over Kerala, coastal and south interior Karnataka during the next 48 hours.
