Madanapalle: Broadband services will be introduced in Madanapalle from this month-end, according to Telecom Divisional Engineer B.V. Subba Rao. Introduction of this service would facilitate simultaneous working of Internet, phone and fax. Even TV broadcasting, videophones and modems would be made available, he said on Monday. The Telecom Department would charge Rs. 500 per month for the broadband services and those interested should deposit a sum of Rs. 3,000 and register their names. The DE said those planning to go in for new telephone connections before August 28 would get an exemption of Rs. 500 from the total amount. Mr. Rao said free talk time would be provided to CellOne post-paid customers opting for plan 720. For customers opting for plan 525, 325, 225 and for those with pre-paid cards, calls would be allowed to any two BSNL connections at the rate of 0.10 paise per minute.
Reconnection
Regarding reconnection of telephones disconnected for the past two years, he said the rent till date would be written off.
