Pondicherry: Chief Minister N. Rangasamy distributed cash awards of Rs. 5,000 to three top rankers (belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes) in the Plus-Two public examinations (2005-06) under a scheme of Indian Bank at a function here on Monday. He also handed over similar cash awards to three top rankers belonging to the Backward Classes. The SC/ST students honoured were M. J. Dhanabhakya Lakshmi (St Patrick's HSS), S. Sudarsanan (Petit Seminaire HSS) and J. V. Nikhilan (Petit Seminaire HSS). The BC candidates were S. Poongothai Pillai (St Joseph of Cluny Girls HSS), H. Sakthivel (Petit Seminaire HSS) and K. Kayathri (St Joseph of Cluny Girls HSS), according to a press release. General Managers of Indian Bank (Head Office) K. B. Nagendramurthy and A. Viswanathan, Deputy General Manager M. Savarimuthu, Assistant General Manager (Pondicherry) N. Sambasiva Rao, lead district manager J. Chandrasekaran, senior manager B. Veeraraghavan and manager P. Aguilane were present at the function.
