Don't buckle under U.S. threat: BJP

Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI: The Bharatiya Janata Party has objected to the American "threat" that any kind of full or partial ban on the two soft drink giants — Coca Cola and Pepsi — would affect investments from the United States in India.

The party's deputy leader in the Lok Sabha, V.K. Malhotra, said here on Monday that the Government should not buckle under such threats. At the same time he wanted to know why the Government had not taken steps to get the soft drinks tested at its own laboratories.
