Laurels for city photographer

VIJAYAWADA: Vijayawada-based photojournalist T.S.Reddy has been accorded the prestigious India International Photographic Council (IIPC) associateship for 2006. Mr.Reddy, who won many national and international laurels, was one among the ten photographers selected from the country to be honoured by the council.

The certificate will be presented to him in a function held in New Delhi on World Photography Day on August 19.

Mr.Reddy has already been accorded associateship by the Royal Photographic Society, U.K., and the Image Colleague Society, USA, and fellowship by the Federation of Indian Photography. He has won prizes in competitions held in the country and abroad.

Mr Reddy contributes regularly to various journals and periodicals and over 800 of his photographs have been selected for display in national and international photographic salons. His black-white and colour pictures on the traditions of Lambadas of Andhra Pradesh, Bondas of Orissa and fishermen of the Godavari are noted in the salon circuits.
