Fees: matter before Cabinet, court told

Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: The State Government on Monday told the Karnataka High Court that the matter of payment of full fees of postgraduate (PG) medical and dental students belonging to Category 1 had been placed before the Cabinet and that a decision was expected shortly.

The State filed a memo to this effect on a petition by Dr. Mahendra Kumar and another student who had challenged the delay by the State in not paying the full fees of Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and most backward class students (Category 1) for 2004-05 who had taken up PG courses in medicine and dentistry.
