The Iran question

Iran President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's views (Interview, Aug. 10) reflect a blend of resilience and rigidity. He is ready for a dialogue but at the same time warns the U.S. and its European allies not to bully him. This is a legitimate demand of every sovereign country. He is also clear in not giving up what he calls Iran's right to the enrichment of peaceful nuclear technology. The big powers should realise that they should deal with Iran amicably.

Deepti Pande,
Nainital, Uttaranchal

It is time to cut the nuclear powers to size. Iran has taken the lead in telling the `big brother' not to hold talks at gunpoint.

K.G. Shanbhogue,
Kundapura, Karnataka
