Row over toddy leads to murder

ANANTAPUR: An argument arising out of a friendly demand for toddy led to the murder of a person at Pappanapalli thanda in Gorantla mandal of the district on Monday.

According to the police, one Krishna Naik (40) was staying as a tenant in the house of Ravindra Naik along with his wife and son. The two became good friends soon and used to consume toddy everyday. Ravindra Naik was learnt to have asked his tenant to arrange for some toddy. But, the latter reportedly refused stating that he had no money. Angered at the refusal Ravindra Naik allegedly hit Krishna Naik on his head with a boulder leading to his instantaneous death. Ravindra Naik was at large.
