YSR allays fears of teachers on tribunal ruling

Unified service rules for teachers struck down

HYDERABAD: Chief Minister Y.S.Rajasekhara Reddy has assured that Government would file a petition in the High Court against the Andhra Pradesh Administrative Tribunal (APAT) striking down the unified service rules for teachers.

Dr. Reddy gave the assurance to a delegation of AP State Teachers' Union which called on him here on Monday.

A press release issued by the union said a petition would also be filed in the court on behalf of a unified body of teachers.

Members of the delegation explained to the Chief Minister about the situation arising out of the APAT decision , according to P.Subba Reddy, president.

The AP Teachers' Federation demanded local categorisation of teachers..
