JAIPUR : Toppers from 21 boards across the country this year joined the Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani, under the scheme of direct admissions for those topping their XII boards. The institute, a deemed university in the areas of science and technology with campuses in Pilani, Goa and Dubai, admitted 1,400 students this year to its campuses at Pilani and Goa. "Every year BITS has been admitting toppers from more than 15 boards. This year toppers from the CBSE and ISCE also opted to join BITS," said Raghurama, Dean of Admissions and Placements. The admissions were made through a computer-based online examination, BITSAT, conducted at 15 centres across the country. The candidates aspiring for admissions need to score 80 per cent aggregate in physics, chemistry and mathematics with at least 60 per cent marks in each of the subjects.
