BANGALORE: Two software engineers of IT major Infosys drowned at the Calangute beach in north Goa on Sunday when they ventured into the sea for a swim along with 10 other colleagues. All of them were in Goa to enjoy the long weekend. An office-bearer of the Union for Information Technology and Enabled Services Professional told The Hindu that the two deceased engineers were from New Delhi and Kerala. They were part of a group of 14 software engineers, 11 of them from Infosys and three from TCS. Of those who went for a swim , eight were swept away. While the bodies of two of them have been recovered, six others were still missing. General secretary of the ITES union, Karthik Shekar, expressed his condolences to the kith and kin of the victims. He said that efforts were on to trace the missing engineers.
