NEW DELHI: The 53rd National Film Awards have been finalised, but the decision has been kept in abeyance because of a Bombay High Court judgment that directed the Directorate of Film Festivals (DFF) to consider uncensored films for the competition. Information & Broadcasting (I&B) Minister Priyaranjan Dasmunsi said a decision on whether to appeal the verdict in the Supreme Court would be taken at a meeting on Tuesday. The court was acting on a petition by film-makers Anand Patwardhan, Simantini Dhuruv and Gaurav Jani.
