Plan to create awareness

The Tamil Nadu Housing Board (TNHB) allottees have decided to create awareness about the ongoing struggle for sale deeds.

A release from K. Jayachandran, general secretary of the Orunginaintha Tamil Nadu Kovai Veetu Vasathi Variya Pirivu Othukketalargal Sangham, here has said that a campaign meeting was held on August 13 at 5 p.m. A series of meetings were planned every week-end in various housing schemes of the TNHB till September 24.

Know chikunguniya

The Department of Microbiology of the SNMV College of Arts and Science will organise an awareness programme on chikunguniya at Malumichampatti and Bodipalayam village on August 17.

Project to be presented

The School of Hotel Management of VLB Janakiammal College of Arts and Science will present a project on "vehicle mounted with fully mechanised kitchens for CRPF" which will help the moving forces cook at any location, on August 17.

Elected office-bearers

The following were elected office-bearers of the Coimbatore District Electrical Traders' Association: P. Shanmugam (president), S.P.M. Sureshkumar (vice-president), B. Anantha Padmanabhan (secretary) and R. Kumar (treasurer).

No power supply

There will be no power supply in the following places from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on August 18 owing to shutdown at the Arasur sub-station for maintenance work: Arasur, Pothiyampalayam, Sulur, Kurumbapalayam, Muthugoundenpudur, Neelambur, Rasipalayam, Sengodagoundenpudur, Sellappampalayam, Vagarayampalayam, Mudalipalayam, Kankeyampalayam and Solakattupalayam.
