HYDERABAD: The Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad (MCH) has identified 726 dilapidated buildings that can pose danger to the lives of residents in case of heavy rain and demolished 141 houses so far while repairing 56 other buildings. The Additional Commissioner (Projects and Planning) Dhanunjaya Reddy has said notices have been issued to 500 building-owners to move out as per the directions of the MCH Commissioner. The Commissioner held a review meeting on the issue on Monday.
Negotiations
He said final notices have also been issued to them and the Commissioner has directed the engineering department to negotiate with people reluctant to move out due to absence of alternate arrangements. He said some modalities would be worked for the poorest of poor but they would have to be shifted out and their houses demolished due before they collapsed. Mr. Reddy said the services of officials who had served sincerely in the recent heavy rains were appreciated. The efforts of Anuradha, Additional Commissioner (East) also holding charge of Secunderabad division, were specially commended. Officials, who rendered good services, would be honoured.
