In true spirit

BANGALORE: Celebrating the Independence Day in its true spirit, volunteers of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and Hindu Jagaran Vedike hoisted the tricolour in the early hours of Tuesday in the city. As the clock struck 12, the Akhila Bharata Saha Seva Pramukh of RSS, Seetharama Kedilaya, hoisted the tricolour and later the Bhagava Dhwaja amid "Bolo Bharat Maata Ki Jai" slogans by the sevaks who had gathered at the venue. The national anthem was sung which was followed by the lighting of lamps. Tributes were paid to martyrs. The celebrations concluded with the singing of "Vande Mataram".
