A mother's noble gesture
Staff Reporter
BANGALORE:
Two women suffering from cornea-affected blindness will be able to see again, thanks to the decision of Sunitha of Gandhinagar to donate the eyes of her son, Girish (8), who died of asphyxia on Monday.
She took the boy's body to Narayana Nethralaya and allowed the specialists to remove the cornea. This was the second case where the kin of the dead had brought the body for eye donation, said Bhujanga Shetty, Medical Director of Narayana Nethralaya.
