Pre-degree examinations: The `final mercy chance' pre-degree examinations will begin on September 20. The detailed timetable can be had from the university web site and from the university information centres

Book fair: The Onam book fair organised by the publications division of the university will be inaugurated on August 17 by Minister for Devaswom G. Sudhakaran. The exhibition-cum-sale will be organised at the sales emporium of the publications division on the premises of the University Library. Books will be sold on discounts ranging from 10 to 80 per cent.

Merit scholarship: Provisional list of B.Tech candidates who are eligible for university merit scholarship for the year 2005 have been sent to the Principals of the College of Engineering, Thiruvananthapuram, Government Engineering College Barton Hill, Sri Chitra Thirunal Engineering College, Pappanamcode, and TKM Engineering College, Kollam. Any complaints about the list should be brought to the attention of the respective Principals, along with necessary evidence, before August 26.

MASLP admissions: Applications for admission to the Master in Audiology and Speech Language Pathology course newly commenced at the National Institute of Speech and Hearing (NISH) can be submitted till August 18.

The rank list should be put up on the college notice board on August 19 and the interviews should begin on August 24. Classes should commence on August 30.

The memos for the interview should be sent by registered post. A copy of the rank list should reach the university and admissions should be closed on September 2, the university has directed.

MA history: A special class on the general essay paper for the students of the second-year MA history programme of the Institute of Distance Education will be held on August 19.

Refresher programme: The refresher course in physics originally scheduled to begin at the Academic Staff College from July 31 will now be held from September 12 to October 4.
