When administration fails, people's representatives can join the people in solving pressing problems in their locality. On Monday, Member of Parliament N.N. Krishnadas and MLA K.K. Divakaran joined the local people to remove waste from the main canal passing through B.O.C. Road in the Palakkad municipality. The municipality was in the news for its political uncertainty and horse-trading for the post of chairperson. It has for long been plagued by solid waste management problem and mosquito menace that were causing health problems. To make matters worse, the main canal on B.O.C. Road was clogged, inundating some parts of the town. The MP and MLA took up the job of the clearing the canal.
