NIZAMABAD: Minister for Rural Development D. Srinivas has appreciated the role played by the Indian Red Cross Society during floods and natural calamities, and suggested to the IRCS district unit to take an active part in raising donations and providing relief for the victims of the recent floods. Addressing a function, after hoisting the national flag at the Independence Day celebrations at the Police Parade Grounds on Tuesday, he called upon philanthropists to contribute liberally to the flood victims. Volunteers of the IRCS on the occasion raised fund by going from person to person in the gathering.
Grand manner
Meanwhile, the Independence Day was celebrated in a grand manner at the Red Cross school. IRCS district secretary N. Ramchander, IRCS State executive member M. Ramachander Rao, district executive members Kala Lalitha, Bhalwan and T. Rajasekhar attended the function. peaking on the occasion, Dr. Ramchander asked parents to encourage their children to participate in sports and games, as it is an essential and inseparable part of education.
