GUNTUR: Governor Rameshwar Thakur has given consent to Acharya Nagarjuna University to confer honorary degrees of Doctor of Letters on three eminent personalities during the 27th convocation of the university on August 26. Those to be honoured are Andhra Bank Chairman and Managing Director K. Ramakrishnan, Andhra University Vice-Chancellor L. Venugopal Reddy and the Andhra Pradesh State Cultural Council Chairman Dharmavarapu Subrahmanyam. The Andhra Bank Chairman will also be the chief guest and deliver the Convocation address, ANU Registrar K. Viyyanna Rao, said here on Tuesday. Prior to joining Andhra Bank, Mr. Ramakrishnan was the Chairman, Bank of Baroda (Kenya) Ltd. and Chairman, Bank of Baroda Housing Finance Ltd. Mr. Subrahmanyam had acted in more than 350 films and became a celebrity. He had bagged Nandi Awards four times. He also visited many countries and gave stage performance enthralling the audience with wit and humour. Andhra University Vice-Chancellor Reddy has been a distinguished academician and administrator.
