Committee to study staff's demands

Asked to submit report before September end

Pondicherry: Lt. Governor Mukut Mithi has constituted a single-member committee to examine the representations made by the Government employees of various departments seeking restructuring of posts of all categories including those coming under Ministerial cadre in the Union Territory. A number of Government departments had also made recommendations in this regard following the implementation of the revised pay scales in 1997, as notified by Union Finance Ministry. The order issued by the Lt. Governor had superseded the earlier order passed in January 2005.

A. Anbarasu, Secretary to the Works Department in Pondicherry, will constitute the committee and will have secretarial assistance from the Finance department. The committee had been asked to submit its report before September 30.
