Letters to the Editor
The ceasefire between Israel and Hizbollah, though welcome, has come a little late in the day. The international community remained a mute spectator as lives and property were destroyed. Life in Lebanon will take long to return to normal.
Nagesh Belapure,
It is surprising to find praise being showered on Hizbollah for its resistance to Israel. Hizbollah did not fight like a regular army. With what objectives did it provoke a war with Israel and what has it achieved after the total destruction of Lebanon's infrastructure? Hizbollah's position is like that of a man on life support after being mauled by a tiger. The Lebanese leadership should introspect on the price it will have to pay for having an irresponsible terror group operating from within its boundaries.
P. Raja Rao,
