Staff Correspondent

MYSORE: The M. Veerappa Moily-headed Oversight Committee will shortly classify the institutes of higher learning that will start implementing the 27 per cent quota for Other Backward Classes from the coming academic year. Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, Mr. Moily said the coordination committee of the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) and the Left parties had decided to implement the quota from the next academic year. "The Oversight Committee has to decide which colleges will implement the quota from the next year and which colleges will implement it in phases," Mr. Moily said. He said the Oversight Committee had been entrusted with the task of drawing a roadmap for the implementation of 27 per cent quota for Other Backward Classes.
