`Betrayal Day' to be observed

Staff Reporter

KANNUR: The Kerala Pradesh Karshaka Congress will observe `Betrayal Day' on Thursday in protest against the alleged breach of promises to farmers by the Left Democratic Front Government in the State.

Organisation State general secretary K.J. Joseph told a press conference here on Monday that the day was being observed to highlight the demands of the farmers, including writing off agricultural loans, distribution of farmers' pension arrears, among other things.

Farmers will stage a fast at the Stadium Corner on the day, he said.
