PALAKKAD: Minister for Electricity A.K. Balan took the salute at the Independence Day celebrations held at the Fort Maidan here on Tuesday. The police, armed police force, forest, NCC and Guide cadets participated in the march past held. Meanwhile the activists of the National Democratic Front (NDF) took out a `freedom parade' through the streets in the town.
