HYDERABAD: Governor Rameshwar Thakur had a hectic schedule on Tuesday evening hosting back-to-back receptions in Bhubaneshwar and Hyderabad to mark Independence Day. Mr. Thakur and his wife Narmada were present at the gubernatorial bungalow in Orissa where they played host to the city's dignataries before flying by a special aircraft to Hyderabad. The couple arrived on dot at Raj Bhavan to receive a host of political leaders including Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy and Speaker K.R. Suresh Reddy, besides prominent citizens and freedom fighters. The ceremonial function was pushed to 6.30 p.m. instead of the usual 5 p.m.
