KOTTAYAM: The police said they were searching for those responsible for the attack on four activists of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI(M) at Payippad, near Changanassery, on Monday. No arrest has been made so far. The four who were injured in the attack are Perumgaraparambil Mohanan, Pradeep Kumar of Mambilly Colony, Praveen Kumar and his neighbour Alex. They were admitted to Pushpagiri Medical College Hospital in Thiruvalla. According to police they suspect a link between the attack on activists of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh on July 17, in which four RSS activists were injured. Following the violence, the police presence in the area has been stepped up and new pickets have been put in place, the police said.
