NALGONDA: The State Government is taking all necessary steps to provide irrigation water for 28,000 more acres under the Alimineti Madhava Reddy project, Home Minister K. Jana Reddy has said. Addressing the gathering after hoisting the tri-colour as part of Independence Day celebration here on Tuesday, he said that works for irrigating 22,000 acres has been completed. "If every things goes well, another 31,000 acres would be irrigated in the district by September end," he maintained. Listing out the developmental activities taken up the district administration, Mr.Jana Reddy said that 11,973 acres was distributed among 11,426 poor beneficiaries in two phases. "Distribution of land to the landless is a historic step taken up by the Congress Government led by Y.S.Rajasekhar Reddy. We are committed to the uplift of the poor," he declared. Later, the Home Minister released a book titled `Pillalamarri' penned by Ravikanti Vasunandan at the ZP meeting hall.
