PANAJI: The body of Amit Kumar Verma (24) of Varanasi, one of the six persons who drowned while swimming in the sea off the Calangute beach in north Goa on Sunday, was recovered on Tuesday. The Calangute Police said the body was handed over to the relatives of the deceased here. Two persons had drowned, two were saved, and four were missing, off the coast on Sunday, when three groups of people working in software companies in Pune, Bangalore and Kerala, went for a swim during a week-end trip. The bodies of two persons were recovered on Sunday and three bodies were recovered on Monday. All the bodies have been handed over to relatives who arrived here, the Calangute Police said on Tuesday.
