Staff Reporter
HYDERABAD:
T. Satyanarayana, 36, who was sentenced to life imprisonment for murdering his wife and two children recently, has committed suicide by hanging in Cherlapally jail here on Tuesday, the police said.
The life convict was found hanging from the cement grills of the toilet's ventilator in Godavari block of the jail around 2.30 p.m. "Satyanarayana managed to secure a towel, tore it into two halves and used it for hanging himself after tying both the pieces," Kushaiguda Inspector K. Ramchander Rao said.
A resident of Sundarnagar in Miryalaguda of Nalgonda district, Satyanarayana was charged with killing his wife and two children. A local court in Nalgonda sentenced him to life imprisonment following his conviction in the case on June 30 last. He was shifted to Cherlapally jail on July 1. After inquiring with inmates of the jail, police said the life convict of late appeared to be dejected since none of his relatives or friends came to meet him after he was brought Cherlapally.
