CPI wants State to come to rescue of farmers

HYDERABAD:
State CPI Secretary, K. Narayana, has appealed to the Government to come to the rescue of the farmers hit by floods and drought conditions.
Addressing the members of the Andhra Pradesh Ryotu Sangham, at the party office here on Tuesday, Mr. Narayana said while farmers faced problem from heavy rains and floods in parts of Telangana and Coastal Andhra, those in Rayalaseema reeled under deficient rainfall. The Government should take care of both these farming sections.
Kolli Nageswara Rao, vice-president of the All-India Kisan Sabha asked them to oppose the anti- farmer policies of the Government.
Demands day
The Sabha has given a call for demands day on September 1 and submit representations to the Governor, the Chief Minister and district collectors, highlighting the problems faced by the farmers. K. Ramakrishna and R. Venkaiah, president and general secretary of the Sangham spoke.
