Swaranjit Sen stands out in the crowd

HYDERABAD: What one should wear for a formal or ceremonial function will exercise the mind of anyone conscious of his sartorial sense.

Especially when it is a reception hosted by the first citizen of the State, the Governor, and when the invitee is Director General of Police Swaranjit Sen.

Casting off his trademark striped muffler, Mr. Sen stood out in the gathering with his navy blue galaband and a sidecap in keeping with his Army background. A semiformal dress, it is worn at formal mess evenings in many armed forces. It is also prescribed for IAS and IPS officers as a dress for special occasions like the Independence Day.
