KOCHI: The dissatisfaction over low salary is spreading among Government doctors and will in the long run affect the public-health sector, participants at the State committee meeting of the People's Doctors' Forum said. The agitation by doctors demanding better salary is fully justified. The Government should give a better due to Government doctors and give them salary on a par with doctors in the Medical Education Department. An exclusive pay commission should be given shape to for deciding the salary of Government doctors, the participants said. The forum has decided to hold a seminar in Thiruvananthapuram on September 10 to discuss the issue, Dr. U.T. Prasanth, convener of the body said.
