NEW DELHI: The coming Assembly elections in some States will be at the centre of the discussions at the National Executive meeting of the Janata Dal (United) that will be held here on August 26 and 27. This will be the first meeting of the executive after Sharad Yadav took over the reins of the party from George Fernandes. The executive will adopt a resolution on the political, economic, agriculture and the foreign policy issues, ranging from the India-U.S. nuclear deal to the food and farm crisis and reservation for OBCs, after discussions.
Party MPs to attend
All party MPs, Mr. Fernandes, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, former JD (U) Chief Ministers, legislative assembly leaders and presidents of the State units have been invited for the conference as ex-officio members, said party secretary-general K.C. Tyagi.
