Bidar: The State Government will help Bidar exploit its proximity to Hyderabad, Industries Minister Katta Subrahmanya Naidu has said. "We will develop Bidar just as Tamil Nadu is developing Hosur that borders Bangalore," the Industries Minister said in Bidar on Wednesday. "Bidar is just three hours drive from Hyderabad. There are many towns in the State that are very near big cities of other States. "We will use this to our advantage. We will convince investors that they will get land and labour in these small towns, at a fraction of what they pay for the same in big cities. Their investment will create jobs," he told presspersons. The State Government would help sick industries of Bidar by offering them a one-time settlement scheme. The Government was willing to waive a part of the interest on loans taken by entrepreneurs, he said. He also promised to initiate action against KIADB officials facing allegations of selling land in the industrial area to people who were starting farm houses and housing schemes in Bidar. Land given to industrialists would be taken back if they failed to start industries within two years of getting it, he said.
