ERODE: Teachers should inculcate patriotism in the students. They should teach it along with the subjects in the curriculum, said the Vice-Chancellor of Tamil University, Tanjavur, C. Subramaniam, here on Sunday evening while delivering the special address at the valedictory function of the 11-day book festival organised by the People Thinkers Forum at Municipal VOC Park, Erode. He said India was growing in all fields. India would become a great force by 2020 and all the needs of the people would be fulfilled by that time. Delivering the valedictory address, Prof. V.S. Kolandaisamy, noted educationaist, said that the literacy percentage of the Erode district was 65.5 and he hoped it would soon reach 80 or 85.The chairman of the National Welfare Awareness Movement, S.K.M. Maeilanandhen, presided. The organiser and president of the People Thinkers Forum, T. Stalin Gunasekaran, said that books worth more than Rs. 2.50 crore were sold in the book fair.
