Special Correspondent

YSR to visit Tirupati for just five hours

TIRUPATI: A tight schedule awaits Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy who is slated to fly in here on a five-hour visit on August 19. According to his tentative programme, he would land here at around 9.30 a.m. and is expected to participate in the programme being arranged by the TUDA at Surappakasam for the development of its township. He would later attend a wedding at the Urban Haat and proceed to Sri Padmavathi Mahila University to participate in a programme there.

Dr. Reddy would later motor up the Tirumala hills where he is expected to formally launch the Vedic University at `Veda Giri'. After a darshan at the temple of Lord Venkateswara uphills, he would drive down and take off in his chopper around 2 p.m.

If TDP president Chandrababu Naidu's scheduled visit to his native Chittoor district on the same day, i.e. August 19 also materialises, there is bound to be a flurry of activity much to the anxiety of the police, district administration and of course, the media. Party sources said that Naidu would tour the Madanapalle and Tampalle areas and visit the chickungunya medical camps to be run by the TDP at different places in the district.
