Isolated rain in Tamil Nadu

CHENNAI: Southwest monsoon has been active over Kerala.

Rainfall occurred at most places over coastal Karnataka and Kerala, at many places over Lakshadweep and north interior Karnataka and at a few places over south interior Karnataka. Isolated rainfall occurred over Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh.

The following stations recorded heavy rainfall in cm are:

Kollur (Udupi dt) 10, Kozhikode and Sringeri (Chikmagalur dt) 8 each and Valparai, and Kozhikode Airport 7 each.

The other chief amounts of rainfall recorded in cm are:

Kochi Airport, Bagamandala (Kodagu dt) and Madikeri 6 each, Manjeri and Perinthalamanna (both Malapuram dt), Kannur, Karwar, Gerusoppa (Uttara Kannada dt), Kalasa, Lakkavalli and Kammardi (all Chikmagalur dt) 5 each.

Forecast (valid until Friday morning): Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at most places over Kerala and coastal Karnataka, at many places over south interior Karnataka and north coastal Andhra Pradesh and at a few places over south coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, Telangana, Lakshadweep and north interior Karnataka. Isolated rain or thundershowers are likely to occur over Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry.
