Pondicherry: A seven-member delegation of the Association of Teaching Staff of Pondicherry Institute of Post-Matric Technical Education (PIPMATE) called upon the Education Minister to intervene immediately and concede their demands. A communication from association secretary S. Sathya said here on Wednesday that the memorandum presented to the Minister recently urged him to ensure that new recruitment rules were framed in consultation with the association. Adequate posts of teachers should be created in polytechnics, all vacant posts filled without delay, services of all teachers, who had completed probation period, confirmed, Provident Fund Scheme extended to all teachers, and seniority list of the staff published, the memorandum said.
