Pondicherry: The Pondicherry Engineering College will start an All India Council of Technical Education-approved M. Tech course in Information Security this month, official sources told The Hindu here on Tuesday. With the country requiring around 80,000 experts in Information Security, the college took the initiative to start the course and already courses were available in three IITs and in two National Institutes of Technology. The PEC would be the sixth institute, the sources added. The Department of Information and Technology, Government of India, New Delhi, is funding the course and 17 candidates will be admitted.
