THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Governor R.L. Bhatia on Wednesday greeted the people of the State on the occasion of `Chingam,' the Malayalam New Year.

In a message he said: ``I greet the people of Kerala and Malayalis the world over on the first of Chingam that marks the auspicious start of the new Malayalam year 1182.'' He expressed the hope that Chingam would bring them peace, prosperity and joy. — Special Correspondent
