THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The former Chief Justice of Jharkand High Court Justice N. Dinakar took charge as the chairman of the State Human Rights Commission here on Wednesday. Justice Dinakar who started practising as a lawyer in 1968 has served as Government counsel and Additional Public Prosecutor. He has functioned as the Tamil Nadu Government's Special Counsel in several cases. He was the Government's Counsel before the Justice Sethuraman inquiry commission. He was the CBI's Special Public Prosecutor in the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case. He was made an Additional Judge of the Madras High Court on October 17, 1994. He was appointed as Judge of the Kerala High Court on November 30, 1994. He was shifted to the Madras High Court on February 5, 1999 and appointed as the Chief Justice of the Jharkand High Court on December 4, 2005. He had bowed out of service on June 10, 2006.
