KOCHI: The Kerala Police Officers' Association said on Wednesday that disciplinary action against officers in cases relating to the death of undertrials would only serve to break the morale of the police force. The association said steps should be taken to stop victimisation of officers in connection with incidents of natural deaths of those summoned to police stations as part of routine investigationsand for accident deaths occurring during patrolling and raids. Allegations of inaction will be raised against the police if no investigations were made on complaints against goonda activities, robbery and activities of sand and liquor lobbies. The association has called for reinstating officers who were suspended from duty for no direct fault of theirs, said a press release issued by the office-bearers.
