Boy drowned in floodwater

VIJAYAWADA: The Krishna flood claimed the life of a one-year-old boy at Bhramarambapuram near Krishnalanka in the early hours of Wednesday.

The victim Vemula Srinivas, along with his mother Shyamala, was sleeping on a cot in front of his inundated house. The tragedy occurred when Srinivas apparently slipped from the cot.

He was drowned in the floodwater and his mother found him only around 5 a.m.

She rushed him to nearby American Hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.
