HYDERABAD: A new facility which could boost the much-needed medical research in homeopathy and provide access to expert advice in speciality care in a variety of ailments and behavioural problems among children was inaugurated in the premises of Andhra Pradesh Homeopathic Association in Himayatnagar on Wednesday. The facility, Speciality Homeopathic Clinic, under the aegis of the association was inaugurated by Bharatiya Janata Party MLA from the city G. Kishan Reddy. Addressing the gathering of homeopaths, Mr. Reddy said that homeopathy played a vital role in curing chikungunya and pointed out that scores of affected patients were back to normal within weeks thanks to homeopathy. Association president K. Siva Sankar felt that there was an urgent need for speciality clinics in homeopathy for consultation and high-end research-related activities in this stream of medicine. Mr. Siva Sankar also pointed out that soon the speciality clinic would have other departments like nephrology and gastroenterology.
`Skill upgradation programme'
The inaugural meet was also followed by a skill upgradation programme as part of continuing medical education.
