Varanasi: Shehnai maestro Ustad Bismillah Khan will be shifted to a hospital here on Thursday for treatment. District Magistrate Rajiv Agrawal, who met the legend at his residence in Harha Sarai here on Wednesday, said the Bharat Ratna awardee, who was reluctant to leave his house for treatment, had agreed to be shifted to the Heritage Hospital for treatment. "He will be shifted to the private hospital on Thursday morning, and the State Government will meet all expenditure towards his treatment," Mr. Agrawal said. "A plane has been waiting at the Varanasi airport to take the bed-ridden Ustad to Lucknow for treatment. But his determination not to leave Varanasi has left us with no option but to convince him to be shifted to a city-based hospital," he said. UNI
