Man robbed by van driver, cleaner

HYDERABAD: Boarding a private van for travel late in the night proved costly for a person.

The victim B. Venkateswarlugot into the van at Ramachandrapuram crossroads to reach L.B. Nagar around 11 p.m. on Tuesday. Near Gachibowli stadium, the driver stopped the vehicle at a secluded place and threatened the passenger to give away whatever valuables he had. When Venkateswarlu refused, the driver and the cleaner beat him up, forcibly took the Rs. 10,400 he was carrying in the bag, pushed him out and sped away. The victim managed to note down the vehicle number and alerted the Chandanagar police. A hunt is on for the vehicle driver.
