BMP launches drive against unauthorised posters, banners

Staff Reporter

Bangalore: Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BMP) on Wednesday night undertook a drive to clear the city of all unauthorised posters and banners dotting the city.

The drive was in keeping with the resolution passed at the BMP Council to remove posters and banners that had come up in the city without the civic body's approval.

All advertisements are taxed by the BMP and need to have its permission.

"They were being undertaken earlier by the BMP too. It is part of the normal duties of the BMP.

"We are implementing it on a larger scale now," said R.R. Jennu, Joint Commissioner (Development).
