ISKCON organises special programmes

Bangalore: Sri Krishna Janmashtami was celebrated with religious fervour in the city on Wednesday. Devotees thronged the temples to worship Lord Krishna on the auspicious day.

The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) organised special programmes.

"We have people who will sing bhajans while the special puja is being performed," said Veena G.R., an Infosys employee.

She said the festival usually begins with a fast that is observed the previous day.

On the day of the festival, footprints are drawn on the floor, as if the Lord himself had entered the homes of his devotees.
